Griffon vulture gliding low over the farm house this lunch time, lucky I had the camera at hand….. these things have to be seen to be believed, they’re huge up to 2.5m wingspan!
There are tens of thousands on the iberian peninsular and we have feeding stations in the local area where you can get real close up & intimate!

A fabulous barometer of Spring, the exotic looking European Bee-Eaters (Merops apiaster) return to Andalucia.
“The bird is a near passerine bird in the bee-eater family Meropidae. It breeds in southern Europe and in parts of north Africa and western Asia. It is strongly migratory, wintering in tropical Africa, India and Sri Lanka.
